Her most well-known role is her role in Coming to America, the romantic comedy that became an international box-office hit. Headley has also been in films The Preacher's Wife (1996) and Johnson Family Vacation (2004). Headley played Detective Mimi Reed on ABC's daytime soap drama All My Children from 1991-1994. Headley was also the star of the Fox drama series 413 Hope St. (1997-1998) and received nominations for the NAACP Image Award as Outstanding actress in Drama Series. Headley played the character of Jennifer Sallison, a villain in the Oprah Winfrey Network primetime soap The Oprah Winfrey Network primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots.
