
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones (born February 13, 1942 - September 3, 2019) was an American actress. She is most well-known for her roles on the movies Blue Denim (1959), The Poseidon Adventure (1872) as well as The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was raised in Manhattan by her Irish mother and a New England father. She started her career as a child model prior to beginning to pursue acting. She won the Theatre World Award as "one of the most promising stars in 1956-57" for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her film career in 1958 by appearing in the Disney film The Light in the Forest and was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). In her movie The Light in the Forest Lynley was nominated in 1959 to the Golden Globe Award. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award again for the most promising youngcomer of female one year later for Blue Denim.
